Remediation of impacted ClearView Insurance customers

Important policyholder information

ClearView has identified a number of instances where excess premiums received by ClearView have not been returned to customers. These excess premiums may have resulted from policy alterations or cover changes (resulting in reduced premium costs), cancellations or may have been collected in error.

Following a comprehensive review, we have determined that this may affect customers who held a policy with ClearView from 2012 to 2023 across the following products. Some policies are no longer in force.

  • Funeral Insurance at ClearView
  • ClearView Funeral Insurance
  • Injury Cash Insurance at ClearView
  • ClearView Injury Cash Insurance
  • Serious Illness Insurance at ClearView
  • ClearView Serious Illness Insurance
  • ClearView Estate Cover
  • ClearView Estate Guard
  • ClearView EasyLife Protector Plan
  • ClearView Income Protection
  • ClearView LifeSolutions
  • ClearView LifeSolutions Super
  • ClearView LifeCover Plan
  • ClearView LifeCover Plus Plan
  • ClearView Term Life Insurance
  • ClearView Family Protection Insurance

ClearView has commenced a remediation program to return any excess premiums, plus interest, to customers. ClearView will make all reasonable attempts to contact impacted customers and issue refunds plus interest. If we are unable to contact impacted customers despite these attempts, we will send any outstanding amounts to the applicable unclaimed monies regime.
